Privacy Policy
Effective July 16, 2026
TurnUp (the “Platform”) is operated by Purple Top LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Platform, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Account Information When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password. If you add a phone number for SMS reminders, we collect that too.
Event Content When you create an event we store the details you provide: title, description, date, location, cover art, photos, and any settings you configure.
RSVP Information When a guest RSVPs to an event, we use the contact information already on their account (name, email address, and phone number, if provided) to send reminders and host announcements on behalf of the event host.
Visitor Analytics We count page views on event pages so hosts can gauge interest. To deduplicate views within a day, we compute a daily fingerprint—a one-way hash of your IP address, browser type, and the current date, salted so it cannot be reversed. We may also derive approximate location (country, region, city) from your IP address. We do not store raw IP addresses as part of visit records, we do not use cross-site tracking, and we do not build profiles of casual visitors.
Link Analytics When you share an event, the links you create carry an identifier so we can attribute the resulting traffic to that link and to the person who generated it. We use this to keep our traffic analytics accurate and to detect abuse of the platform. These identifiers describe the link, not the people who open it, and we do not use them for cross-site tracking or advertising.
How We Use Your Information
- Operating accounts and events
- Sending automated reminders via email and SMS
- Delivering host announcements on behalf of event organizers
- Providing visitor and link analytics to hosts
- Responding to support inquiries and communicating platform updates
- Screening passwords against known breaches at account creation, password changes, and sign-in (see password security page)
- Verifying sign-ins from unrecognized browsers via one-time codes
How We Share Your Information
Service providers receive information only as necessary to operate the platform:
Communications Providers: deliver the messages TurnUp sends on your behalf. To do this they receive the relevant contact details — phone numbers for SMS verification codes, reminders, and announcements; email addresses and message content (including recipient names and event details) for transactional email.
Infrastructure and Monitoring Providers: host the Service and help us keep it reliable and secure. They may receive technical request data such as IP-derived location, browser type, and user identifiers.
Mapping and Location Service Providers: turn the address you enter into address suggestions and a precise location. They receive the address text you type — and return matching addresses and map coordinates in response; they do not receive your name, contact details, or other account information.
We do not share your personal information with these providers for their own marketing purposes. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
What We Do Not Do
- Events are not publicly listed by default. Your event page is only accessible to people who have the link unless you explicitly enable discovery for that event.
- Guest contact details are never shared with hosts. Hosts can message their guest list through TurnUp, but they cannot see or export guest email addresses or phone numbers.
- Selling personal information
- Sharing with advertisers
Data Retention
We retain your account information and event data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information. Some data may be retained in backups for a short period before being purged.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We also set a signed device-verification cookie when you complete sign-in verification from a new browser. It is valid for 90 days, identifies only your account, and is used solely to skip the verification-code step on browsers you have already verified — see our device verification page for details. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Your Choices
You can update or correct your details in account settings, and delete your account at any time from account settings. You can also request a copy of your information or ask us to delete it by contacting the privacy team below.
Changes to This Policy
Material changes trigger notification via email or platform announcement before taking effect.
